Team USA is Gold!-en
Yesterday was a great day for Team USA. With a total of six medals, 3 of which were gold, the US leads in the medal count with 14, followed by Germany with 10. Lindsey Vonn made history yesterday when she won gold in Women's Downhill Alpine Skiing. Shani Davis defended his title and won gold in Men's 1000m Speed Skating. And then, if that's not enough, Shaun White, the Flying Tomato, defended his gold with a Double McTwist 1260 to win in Men's Snowboard Halfpipe. I think the crowd might be getting to know the Star-Spangled Banner by now as it's been played 5 times now at the medal ceremonies.
Saturday, short track speed skater, Apolo Ohno will likely claim the most medals in Winter Olympic history when he competes in the Men's 1000m. Saturday also will see Shani Davis go for gold in the Men's 1500m speed skating event.
